A noi i film horror piacciono, son sempre piaciuti specialmente quelli di un epoca senza precedenti ne successori. Il periodo anni '80 è sicuramente il migliore il più florido di idee e di personaggi terrificanti. Si sperimentava la paura in televisione sotto ogni forma, si prendevano le paure e si rendevano concrete ispirandosi a fatti realmente accaduti, a leggende o semplicemente a sogni (incubi da un certo punto di vista). Ogni film ha delle locations principali e spesso nei film horror la location determina l'atmosfera, il male da combattere e vive (nel vero senso della parola) durante la proiezione. La "casa" è il posto dalla quale sfuggire ma è anche sinonimo di rifugio, sicurezza, protezione. Nei film horror non c'è rifugio nella casa nella quale è ambientata la storia.
Giusto in Zombie di G. Romero i superstiti hanno trovato rifugio nel supermercato, affrontando numerosi zombi ma poi, comunque sono arrivati bikers sciacalli a rovinargli la festa.
Non esiste rifugio dal male e il concetto di "casa" è molto relativo.
Insieme Carmelo Garaffo di Gozer Visions abbiamo realizzato questa prima serie di illustrazioni dedicate ai film horror che più sono stati fonte d'ispirazione nel corso degli anni. La lista in realtà è lunga ma per Halloween abbiamo deciso di pubblicare solo 3 illustrazioni con 3 edifici diversi.
- il rifugio nel bosco da "Evil Dead" di Sam Raimi
- la dimora dei Marsten da "Salem's Lot" di Tobe Hooper
- la casa di Michael Myers da "Halloween" di John Carpenter
Noi di Thunderbeard ci siamo occupati di disegnare gli edifici, le textures e l'ambientazione.
Gozer Vision ha avuto carta bianca sulla creazione delle atmosfere, dal caricare le ombre a definire il clima di terrore attorno alle costruzioni. Il risultato a parer nostro è una bomba e siamo molto contenti.
Abbiamo stampato 40 copie ognuna su carta martellata 300gr. color avorio.
Saranno disponibili dalla notte di Halloween sia separatamente che in serie sul negozio.

"Houses of Darkness"
We like the horror films, especially those of a unique era. The period of the '80s is definitely the best and most flourishing of ideas and terrifying characters. At the time, the directors were doing experiments creating fear on television, they took the fears and made those real, inspiring by true events, legends or just dreams (nightmares from a certain point of view). Every movie has its main locations and often, in horror movies, the location determines the atmosphere, the evil to be fought and the location lives (in the true sense of the word) during the screening.
The "home" is the place from where escape but "home" is also synonymous with shelter, safety, security. In horror movies, there is no shelter in the house where the story is set.
Just in G. Romero' "Dawn of the Dead", the four survivors took refuge in the supermarket; they have killed a lot of zombies, ok, but then, however, a jackal bikers gang came to spoil the party.
There is no refuge from evil and the concept of "home" is very relative.
Together with Carmelo Garaffo of "Gozer Visions", we have realized this first series of illustrations dedicated to all the horror movies that have been a source of inspiration throughout the years. The list is really long, but for Halloween we decided to release only 3 illustrations with 3 different buildings.

We Thunderbeard we took care to draw the buildings, the textures and the location.
Gozer Vision has had carte blanche on creating atmosphere, from loading shadows to define the atmosphere of terror around the buildings. As a result, in our opinion it's awesome and we are very happy.
We printed 40 copies for illustration on textured ivory paper 300gr. .
They will be available from the Halloween night either separately or in series on the store.
